The Grey County Road Race

The Grey County Road Race (May 29th, 2016) and the 2016 Grey County Time Trial (Friday May 27th) will be the sole Canadian qualifier events for the 2016 UCI Gran Fondo World Series. The time trial event will also count towards the Ontario Cup Series for participants who are Ontario residents and hold UCI licenses.

In 2011 the UCI created the UCI World Cycling Tour (UWCT) as a series of UCI-sanctioned races held all over the world. In 2016 the event series has been renamed to the UCI Grand Fondo World Series. There are 14 qualifier events where the top 25% in each age group qualified for the Amateur World Championships and the champions are awarded with the coveted rainbow jersey.

The events take place in Blue Mountain Village, Ontario which is located at the Southern end of Georgian Bay just outside of Collingwood, Ontario Canada. Blue Mountain Village is located 126kms North of Toronto’s main airport (Pearson), 1hr 52minutes of driving time.
